How long are logs retained
April 2, 2024
Unified.to keeps two types of logs.
API call logs record every API request, including the IP address, timestamp, HTTP method, path, connection ID and any errors. They never include customer data or payloads.
Operating logs record system events and are retained for 15 days.
API call log retention depends on your plan:
| Plan | API call log retention |
|---|---|
| Test | 30 days |
| Grow | 60 days |
| Pro | 60 days |
| Scale | 365 days |
| Enterprise | Custom |
Sending logs to your own tools
On the Test, Pro and Scale plans, you can send API call logs to Datadog, Grafana or ClickHouse for custom retention. Configure this in the Unified.to dashboard under Settings > Workspace > External Logging. See:
Backing up your API call logs
To retain a record of all of your API calls, we suggest that you make a backup copy of your API call log on a regular basis. You can do this by using our Unified.to Admin API.
For example, if you use our Node SDK, you could perform a backup using the listUnifiedApicalls() method:
import { UnifiedTo } from '@unified-api/typescript-sdk';
const sdk = new UnifiedTo({
security: {
jwt: '<YOUR_API_KEY_HERE>',
},
});
const results = await sdk.unified.listUnifiedApicalls({ });
